Abstract

This book has primarily been written to help practising managers cope with information overload. Volumes of material have been written on each of the topics addressed; the individual chapters are an attempt to distil the wisdom from the current literature and the best operating practices which we have seen in client companies. For practising managers who do not have the time or the inclination to conduct primary research, this book provides relatively easy access to leading edge ideas.

The book also reflects our internal philosophy of continuous improvement. Working with clients allows us to continually test and modify our understanding of organisation effectiveness. Distilling this experience into sets of operating principles and working models improves our effectiveness as a consulting group.
