The recreational diving industry is a growing sector with more people taking up the sport every year here in Ireland. Dive schools offer a range of courses from the novice to the professional and many dive schools in addition operate retail outlets supplying dive equipment. However here in Ireland no school has employed the internet to allow customers to purchase goods online or book a training course. All the Irish operators follow the same format of presenting their customers with information pertaining to a piece of equipment but with no means of making the purchase online. The same applies for training courses. The course structure is presented to the customer but if they would like to book a course it is a matter of physically contacting the school.
When buying equipment many divers know what they are looking for so why shouldn’t they be catered for online. This is what YellowSubDivers, an Irish start-up hope to achieve. Through the website they hope to reach a larger market and allow them to shop from the comfort of home and to research training courses and reserve their place on them with ease.
