McHugh, Siobhan (2009) An Examination of Training and Development of Clinical Nurse Managers in St.Patrick's University Hospital, Dublin 8. Masters thesis, National College of Ireland.
The aim of this research is to ascertain if there exists a training deficit in the management side of the Clinical Nurse Manager role in St. Patrick’s University Hospital. The Findings show that at management training deficit exists. The results from SPSS established that the CNM's involved made an accurate assessment of their own strengths and weaknesses. It also establishes that training needs were not correlated to length of service or grade. Therefore, regardless of tenure the CNM's have stagnated in their development, a training intervention is now required to develop them further.
