Abstract

This document is the end result of my final year research project which I have been working on throughout the year of 2010/2011. The title of the project is “What are the Effects Of Illegal Downloading On The Music Industry”. The project‟s aim was to research the main title and a number of different areas surrounding illegal downloading and whether or not this is this has affecting the music industry.
My aim was to research as much information as possible to help me come to conclusions. To this end I used both primary and secondary sources of information. I designed a twenty questions survey and released this to the public through several mediums, to identify the sociocultural view towards illegal downloading and found very interesting result. I also designed questionnaires which I used to interview people in the industry that are been affected and got their on the subject.
I used several secondary sources for my investigation such as, books, websites, cases, articles and blogs. This allowed me to get a broader view on the subject and it was interesting to see how other people perceived the situation. All this information than been compiled in a number of sections within this project and from them I have comprised my results, analysed them and discus my findings taking a view from all sides.
