Abstract

The purpose of this dissertation is to investigate if increasing litigation is the reason why companies are improving their health and safety standards.

Essentially, the question that needs to be answered is if improvement of safety standards in the workplace relates to increased litigation.

The objective of the research is to investigate if litigation has increased and if accident rates have fallen because of increased efforts in improving safety standards.

I will prove my hypothesis through the use of traditional textbook methods, through pamphlets and printouts and in my case research methodologies.

This dissertation will give a conclusion that "Increased Litigation has caused companies
to improve their safety standards."
