Of all strategic Ecommerce areas which are opening up at a furious rate, the online grocery service or "e-grocer" appears to be one of the most aggressive entrants into what will prove to be a difficult market, without the correct business model.
It is clear from the foregoing, that there are two distinct issues at play. It is possible with the right model for an online only grocer to succeed. However, the more complex issue which does arise is, can the pure play e-grocer survive?
