Initially existing web-based visualisation tools will be identified and later proprietary software will be piloted on a number of publicly available datasets (varying in type and format). It is hoped that similar dashboard-style systems can, after testing, and with the agreement of NGOs, be embedded within Irish NGO’s work practices, intranets and websites in order to increase aid transparency.
By providing increased aid data transparency to government bodies, other NGOs and the general public; it is hoped that the understanding of issues arising in developing countries and humanitarian crises will be improved, both inside and outside NGOs.
