Before I established a topic for my dissertation, my supervisor advised me concentrate my research paper on a subject in my life that appealed to me. The first thing that came into my mind was cars as I have had an obsession with cars since I have been young enough to remember. The only thing I had to do was to try to come up with an area within the car industry that necessitated investigation. As I was surfing the net one day I decided to check out an automobile website on the Web to try to find out how much it cost to buy a certain car when then I noticed that all of the Irish sites only displayed information about the car
and did not actually have a facility where one could purchase it directly online. It meant that when someone had decided on the exact make and model of car they desired they had to log off and ring a dealer with the information they obtained and order their car the traditional way. This made me ask myself why there wasn't such a facility in Ireland and when I further investigated it showed that there was such a facility in the U.S. and in the U.K. so that if it came to Ireland would it work. I had discovered my dissertation topic.
